Breakers MCFC Competitive Teams

Our Competitive Teams Program
Our competitive teams program is designed to provide a challenging & positive competitive playing environment for players at all levels of competitive play. Players are are initially placed on competitive teams based on level of play to enable a positive & successful practice and playing environment.  Under our 'all one club' philosophy and as players develop through the seasons, players may have additional opportunities to progress and be challenged in training and playing with older or higher level teams in the club.  In contrast to each team on their own, doing their own thing; and in the aim of overall player, team, & club development.
We believe that it is essential for players to develop under a well-rounded, but consistent curriculum.  So, as players continue to develop over the years, there is a true and ongoing foundation for player and team development for successful competitive play - whether with MCFC, their HS Programs, or as they move on to additional higher levels of play (PDP, ODP, & College).

Our Staff & Curriculum
Our Monterey County FC (Breakers MCFC) Coaching Staff is dedicated to develop players & teams of all levels to continue to reach their potential within a challenging, positive, and competitive training environment.  We are comprised of professionals with vast and diverse experiences, developing our Club, Teams, & Players under consistent curriculum.  Our MCFC Competitive Teams curriculum incorporates a balance to a possession with a purpose & individually creative attacking style of play, while teaching our players to be well-rounded at all aspect of the game.

Levels of Play
Our Monterey County FC (or MCFC, aka Breakers MCFC) Competitive teams compete in the NorCal Premier League, the highest level of organized competitive youth soccer in Northern California.  MCFC Teams within the NorCal Premier League, host boys and girls teams at multiple tiers of competitive play from Bronze to Premier, featuring a level of play for all levels of players and teams.

Player and Team Development Philosophy
Boys and Girls U9 - U12 Program
Our Younger Age Group Teams Program will be aimed in developing confident, clever, and skillful young players.  At these initial stages of player development, it is essential that we create a training and playing environment founded on a well-rounded skill-set, developing overall comfort level and confidence with the ball, creativity, combining with others - for an overall enjoyment & passion for the game.  At these youngest age groups, we traditionally have multiple teams & levels of play to ensure that players have the opportunity to learn, progress, and successfully compete for their club & team.
Boys and Girls U13 - U14 Program
The aim is to keep balance in continuing to develop the essential individual and small group technical & tactical abilities, while introducing larger concepts of team play. Still promoting the concept of player development in correlation with their team and teammates for overall success.
Boys and Girls Older Teams Program
As players enter & continue through the second half of their youth playing career, team concepts will equally take a dominant role in regards to both style of play, as well as their overall soccer and teammate relationship – in efforts to develop and promote overall team and club success.

Season of Play
This is a season long commitment, typically a 9-10 month playing season.  The season will begin and end with player placements, taking place in the late spring.  Then staring up with summer tournaments and camps, and continuing with Fall & Spring League Play.  During the early half of summer, late fall, and winter, players & teams will be off.
For U15-U19 Teams (with players in H.S.) players and teams will be off all winter, as players will have the opportunity to play with their High School Programs.
For U9-U14 Teams, we will host winter trainings and a winter futsal league for those interested continued player development.
